This form will take a locality (e.g. Sierra Medina), and return field numbers and collector's data for plants found at that locality.
Note that there are various limitations to this service:
If you want to enter a cactus or succulent species (e.g. Rebutia heliosa), and find data corresponding to that species, use the field number finder instead.
If you want to find locality and other data corresponding to a particular field number (e.g. KK 2005), please use the field number query service instead.
If you want to see which collector (e.g. Karel Kníže) corresponds to a given acronym (e.g. KK), please use the field collector service instead.
If you already have the collector's name (e.g. Karel Kníže), and want to find the acronym(s) used by that collector (e.g. KK, KZ), please use the field collector's acronym query service instead.
This service currently includes details of at least some of the plants collected under the following acronyms:
Note that lists for some collectors are highly incomplete.
Note that sometimes more than one plant will be returned with the same field number – this may be because some collectors have used numbers to refer to localities rather than particular specimens collected at that locality.
In some cases, there may be more than one acronym corresponding to the same set of numbers. For example R and WR are used for Rausch's numbers, L and LAU for Lau's numbers, and so on. In such cases, all possibilities will be returned.
Further additions and editing of the data, and conversion to a WWW query service, were done by Ralph Martin – see his Cactus and Succulent Page.
